You Don’t Need New Year’s Resolutions
Here we are! The start of a new year.
I hope you had an incredible break and are excited about the year ahead and its opportunities for you and your business.
Ever wondered why this is the only time of the year that most are actually setting goals, thinking about the changes they’d like to make and what they want their future to look like?
For some - it’s because it’s a new year, new me, this year will be different etc etc blah blah…
But for most - it’s because you’ve actually had a decent holiday and you’ve actually allowed yourself to relax and think about something else apart from the looming deadlines every week and the pressure of having to deliver all the time.
There’s a reason why your best ideas come to you when you’re in the shower, at the beach, on a bush walk - or on holidays.
It’s because you’ve actually stepped out of the logical, get stuff done part of your brain and have allowed the creative side of your brain to step forward and have its say.
So why then, do we only ever have our allocated 2 weeks off over Christmas, and maybe (just maybe) another short break somewhere over the course of the rest of year??!!
What if your business was set up to support you taking 2 weeks off every quarter? Or a month long holiday somewhere overseas with a week off each quarter?
I mean - it’s your business, it’s meant to work for you - not the other way around.
Imagine having the kind of clarity, new ideas and a fresh reset that you experience every Christmas break - every quarter.
Imagine how much more your business would flourish with its founder feeling rested and recharged throughout the entire year - instead of feeling like a worker bee, chained to a desk having to deliver and put out fires all the time.
Design your life and your business the way that you want it. Don’t look at others and what they’re doing - you do you.
It’s time to get serious about setting up your business so that it works for you and allows you to live the life that you want - and if that means time off every quarter to reset and recharge, so be it.
You don’t need New Year’s resolutions to get you focused and all fired up - you just need a business that supports you having the time off you need to reset, think up new and amazing ideas and get strategic.
